Nothing heralds the arrival of summer quite like taking a cross-country road trip, but it’s easy to fall into a routine around the house and forget we have one planned.
So today Larra and I sat down and set our departure date – Monday, June 13th.
Jim’s Backstory: After years of being tobacco-free, I went back to smoking a few years ago. I really want to stop. I promised Larra I’d do that when I got to Vancouver.
I haven’t.
So this is going to have to be my quit date for cigarettes, too!
Can I stall for another week?
Update: Saturday, June 11. Some of our camping equipment is coming mail order, and didn’t arrive today. So now it looks like it’ll be Tuesday or Wednesday before we’ll get away. We’re both eager and excited!
While I still plan on quitting smoking once we’re on the road, Larra says she’d rather I not stop until the trip is over. She’s concerned that I’ll be snippy and snarky when I do, and she won’t tolerate that from me. Hmmmm….

[Whining] Oh, no! Does this mean you’re going to be snarky on the trip?
Who, me? I’m never snarky. In fact, I’m so un-snarky that I don’t even know what it means! LOL
It’s a Canadian thing, right?
