Stepping Back in Time

imageAfter another long, straight stretch of highway, we came out in Seligman, AZ. This town was a complete surprise to me; I’d not heard of it before.

The town was decorated and festooned to celebrate the heyday of the great Route 66, before Interstate 40 opened.

Apparently it’s very popular with European tourists, many of whom stay for their entire vacations.

I wonder when the bandstand was last used?

If you switch the map to Earth mode,
you’ll see the town disappear into the desert!

Tempting as it might sound, and despite the number of cars out in front, we passed on eating at the Road Kill Cafe! LOL
