August 22, 2016 – Blackwater, Missouri – One of the coolest buildings in town is the Iron Horse Hotel and Restaurant, built in the 1880s.
Larra and I were looking in the windows and it appeared to be fully restored.
As we were leaving, a man walked over from across the street, introduced himself as Terry, the owner, and asked if we’d like to see the hotel.
He unlocked for us, and let us have the run of the building. The place is beautiful.
The dining hall
Pressed tin ceiling treatments in the restaurant.
Staircase to the rooms.
There’s dining in the cellar, too.
Gardens in the rear.
